News settings were not sticking very long. Cookies set by JavaScript only stay for a week on Safari. The news feed query is done server side and embedded into the home page. These settings need to be cookies…

The Links system has had a significant update. The template design has been updated to more closely match the Forum and Gallery. The ability to submit and update sites on the system has been modified to require an account on the site (which is free). The options will only appear when you are logged on. These features no longer have a Captcha requirement nor do they require entering your name and email any more. The Links system gets the information it needs from your site login…

Fixed the Captcha on the Gallery for public comments (it wasn't working before). Links Settings page no longer needs to reload when a setting is changed. Changes apply instantly without reloading the page. There is a new option to use AJAX for the details popups as well. The Forum, Gallery, and Links now generate Search Engine Friendly (SEF) URLs. Weather code has been optimized and loads faster. The weather module also remembers which day you were viewing when it auto updates. News system auto updates are faster and most of the processing happens with no noticeable impact…

Nothing major... Top level heading (with the shading) has been removed. A bit more available screen space now. Forums and Gallery had minor updates. WebMail has had a few updates. Small issues with the new code have been fixed. On the backend, security has been stepped up a bit. Required minor rewriting of the Links engine. Everything should be in good order.

Links has a new feature. Go into the Settings option. The new feature allows you to view Visits Per Month. This shows sites based on overall popularity. The total visits calculation favors longevity over popularity. This becomes more important as new sites are added nearly two years after the links engine debuted. Check it out! The forums have received an upgrade to version 1.1 rc2. I also changed the theme to the new default. Overall, makes quite the improvement. Over 350 links posted, and more changes coming.

Coppermine has been updated to the much awaited version 1.4.2. Much more control, and power. The best photo gallery just got better. Picture uploads do not need to be resized first anymore! I'm still working on other updates to the site; the Links engine now has over 340 links.

I have implemented a new links management system. New features include: sorting, searching, and rating. Expect more links to come, and you can also add your own links.
