The List - Cleared
One of the longest held items on my wish list was to replace the Forum. It was a blog, a calendar, and the site's user identity. It was never used for what it was designed for. Why did this take so long? Availability of a light-weight, integrated solution that does everything I want it to, without significant overhead. It did not exist.
A slow progression powered by AI: create a new user identity manager, add MFA and Passkey support; create a calendar, add fun facts; create a blogging platform, include tag support. Somewhere in the middle:
- Re-write Links as a modern app with a familiar design
- Reformat Quotes to make it more fun and readable; add more quotes
- Integrate the calendar and refreshed quotes look on Home
- Update the style with new opening text and a tweaked header
It wouldn't be a site update without "load faster and improve the experience". Optimization has touched everything. The work has been more thought, less coding. Replacing dozens of "Why doesn't this work?" with a few "You didn't understand the requirement, try again."
These changes clear my list. The next web development adventure... make a new list? Probably not. New ideas will become real within days or weeks. Leveraging AI has proven to be the ultimate accelerator.
